Today, the fourth round of documents acceptance under the Bolashak program has begun and will last until September 15, 2023. Applications for participation in the competitive selection are accepted online through the public services portal - eGov.kz.
“This year, the rules for selecting candidates for the Bolashak scholarship have been improved. Now applicants with a grant to study at a leading foreign university can also participate in the competition. At the same time, the Bolashak program will cover the scholarship holder's expenses for accommodation, meals, medical insurance, air travel, visa fees, and the purchase of educational materials. Also, the period of working out for them will be reduced by one year”,- shared Olzhas Sakenov, Chairman of the Board of JSC Center for International Programs.
This year, the requirements for applicants for the Bolashak scholarship have been increased. Candidates must now confirm knowledge of a foreign language. When studying in English, applicants for training must provide an IELTS certificate with the results:
In general, this year 395 scholarships were allocated for master's and residency studies, 50 scholarships for doctoral programs, and 110 scholarships for internships.
It should be recalled that on the instructions of the Head of State to reorient the Bolashak program, the emphasis is on the training of engineering and technical personnel. To support applicants, a new preferential category “Engineering and technical workers” has been introduced - Also, at the initiative of the Center for International Programs, the selection rules for medical workers have been improved.
Thanks to these innovations, Kazakhstani doctors and tech specialists can get free language training for up to 12 months as part of the Bolashak program.
