The Center for International Programs, the administrator of the «Bolashak» presidential scholarship and the «500 visiting scholars» scientific internships, has signed a memorandum of cooperation with Erasmus MC, a leading medical center of Erasmus University in the Netherlands. The signing ceremony took place in Astana with the support of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Kazakhstan and JSC «NC KAZAKH INVEST».
Under the memorandum, Kazakhstanis will have the opportunity to undertake research internships through the «500 visiting scholars» program and receive academic training through the «Bolashak» program at Erasmus MC.
«We are pleased to announce our partnership with such a prestigious institution as Erasmus MC. This collaboration opens unique opportunities for our scholars to study and conduct research at one of the leading medical universities in the world. Representatives of Erasmus MC have expressed their readiness to assist in obtaining invitations for candidates wishing to undertake the «500 visiting scholars» scientific internship and doctoral studies under the «Bolashak» program», said Acting Chairman of the Board of CIP, A. Ashkin.
Erasmus MC will also provide accommodation for Kazakhstanis at the medical center and assist in organizing education in English.
«We hope that our partnership will be mutually beneficial and enhance the capacity for innovative development in education and research in the field of healthcare», noted Ruslan Mammadov, a representative of Erasmus MC.
Erasmus MC is a leading university medical center located in Rotterdam, Netherlands. The medical center consistently ranks among the top international institutions for various clinical studies. Its research impact index in preclinical, clinical medicine, and medical sciences is one of the highest, standing at 2.55 (for comparison, Harvard University’s index is 2.37). The overall goal of the research is to translate scientific discoveries into clinical practice, covering all areas of research in preclinical, clinical, and medical sciences.
