FOURTH BATCH OF BOLASHAK SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS ANNOUNCED

The Republican Commission for Training Specialists Abroad has decided to award the international Bolashak scholarship to 167 Kazakhstanis. Of these, 131 individuals will pursue postgraduate studies, 4 will undertake doctoral studies, and 32 Kazakhstanis will be sent for internships at leading universities and production centers around the world.

The majority of the scholarship recipients will undergo training in engineering and technical fields. The education will cover 66 specializations.

This year, following the President's directive to reorient the Bolashak program, special emphasis has been placed on training engineering and technical specialists. Quotas have been introduced for engineers and medical professionals, as well as applicants from rural areas who are applying for master's programs. They can undergo up to 12 months of language preparation before starting their studies and are not required to have a university invitation at the time of application for the scholarship.

We have worked to increase the number of applicants, scholarships, and to find universities offering training in these areas», said Aiya Ospanova, Chairwoman of the Board of JSC «Center for International Programs».

Applicants have been admitted to top-ranked global universities such as the University of Oxford, University of Aberdeen, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and Australian National University. The most popular majors include «Information Technology and Systems», «Big Data Analytics», «Pedagogy», «Construction Engineering», and «Geology. Mining. Surveying». Additionally, the Republican Commission for Training Specialists Abroad has awarded grants to 481 Kazakhstanis for scientific internships at leading research centers worldwide. The scholarship recipients will conduct research in 9 areas: engineering sciences, natural sciences, humanities, agro-industrial complex, information and communication technologies, social sciences, education, medicine, and arts.
