INTERNSHIPS AT WABTEC

Representatives of the Center for International Programs met with Yogesh Kumar, Vice President and Head of the Technology and Engineering Center in India at Wabtec Corporation, and Ruslan Unaybekov, Regional HR Business Partner for the CIS, Turkey, and Pakistan.

Deputy Chairman of the Board Arman Ashkin discussed the Bolashak program and the «500 visiting scholars» scientific internships, highlighting the number of scholars being trained in engineering and technical specialties. Following the directive of the Head of State, special attention is given to training engineering personnel at leading universities and organizations worldwide.

Yogesh Kumar, Vice President and Head of the Technology and Engineering Center in India at Wabtec Corporation, highly praised the contribution of the Bolashak scholarship in preparing engineering and technical personnel and noted the uniqueness of the program. The international partner stated that the corporation's global offices are interested in specialists in mechanical engineering and electrical engineering and are ready to share their expertise with Kazakh students. Interns will work alongside experienced Wabtec professionals, participating in real projects of the corporation.

At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to explore the possibility of Bolashak scholars undertaking year-long internships at international offices and production centers of the corporation in India and the USA. Additionally, cooperation in the employment of graduates in the corporation's production centers in Kazakhstan will be considered.

It is worth noting that during President K.K. Tokayev's working visit to the USA on September 17, 2023, a meeting was held with Wabtec Corporation's CEO Rafael Santana to develop the transportation industry in the Republic of Kazakhstan. On December 8, 2023, the Center for International Programs signed a memorandum of strategic partnership with Wabtec Corporation.
