The Bolashak Scholarship continues its mission to support the professional development of Kazakhstani specialists, this time expanding its horizons to the field of justice. Judges from Kazakhstan will have the unique opportunity to undertake internships abroad, thanks to a memorandum signed between the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Judicial Administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and the Eastern Institute of Wismar (Germany).
As part of the implementation of the Head of State's directive to expand administrative justice, Kazakh judges will be able to undergo short-term internships at the Eastern Institute of Wismar at the University of Applied Sciences in Wismar. The choice of Germany for these internships is due to the Administrative Procedural Code, effective since July 1, 2021, which was developed based on the German model.
The internship will provide Kazakh judges with the opportunity to familiarize themselves with advanced judicial practices, enhance their qualifications, and prepare future trainers for the judiciary. Participants will have access to training focused on developing skills to solve complex legal issues and exchanging experiences with international colleagues based on real cases.
Andreas Steininger, Managing Director of the Eastern Institute of Wismar, expressed readiness to assist and support the organization of training and internships.
Madiyar Kozhakhmet, Head of the Office of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, noted that this initiative will help Kazakh judges improve their professional competence, which in turn will lead to more efficient court operations and increased public trust in the justice system.
"At the last meeting of the Republican Commission on Foreign Personnel Training on February 29, 2024, a decision was made to include judges and court employees in the category of specialists for internships abroad. The Ministry of Science and Higher Education, together with the Judicial Administration, is working on concluding memoranda with reputable and leading universities and organizations in this field," said M. Kozhakhmet.
