February 11th marks the International Day of Women and Girls in Science.
This holiday was established by the UN General Assembly in December 2015.
It is important to note that many of our compatriots are studying and advancing their professions in leading educational institutions and scientific centers around the world. Elmira Böribay and Dinara Yesimova are our compatriots conducting research at Kastamonu University in Turkey. Elmira is studying Environmental Ecology and Meteorology, while Dinara is undergoing a scientific internship in Geography. Both women scientists are recipients of the «500 visiting scholars» scientific internship.
Dinara Yesimova, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, stated:
«The tourism industry in Turkey did not develop overnight. The current success was achieved through numerous studies and experiments. We believe that by studying the development of tourism, we can achieve success by implementing these practices in our country. It is crucial to utilize global experience for the development of tourism in Kazakhstan. Using this experience can save both time and finances».
Elmira Böribay, a mother of many children, has been working in biology and ecology for over 30 years. She mentions applying scientific experience and contributing to the development of alternative tourism in our country. Currently, she is studying the development of «green» ecological tourism in Turkey.
Elmira Böribay, Professor of the Ecology program, commented:
We are conducting extensive work on studying the development of green ecological tourism in the region of Turkey. We came here and started mastering many practices under the program. Particularly well-established are thermal tourism and health tourism at Denizli University and Pamukkale University. Now, Turkey has started national projects on green tourism development in 2023. Accordingly, we strive to study advanced international experience and offer the best ecological practices
Today, one can find Kazakh girls in leading universities worldwide, studying various specialties and improving their professional qualifications. Overall, our compatriots are conducting research in various fields in other countries, making new discoveries, and earning scientific titles at the international level.
