MEETING WITH THE AMBASSADOR OF HUNGARY

The Chairwoman of the Board of the «Center for International Programs», Aliya Ospanova, met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Hungary, Rona Otto Ivan. The meeting was also attended by a representative of the Association of Students, Doctoral Candidates, and Graduates of Hungarian Universities, Danara Smail.

The parties discussed cooperation in the field of higher education. In Hungary, 10 individuals have completed their studies under the international «Bolashak» scholarship program. The «Center for International Programs» also administers the «Stipendium Hungaricum» program. For the 2024-2025 academic year, 250 study grants have been allocated under the memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations and Foreign Affairs of Hungary. Applications were accepted from December 19, 2023, to January 17, 2024.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Hungary, Rona Otto Ivan, noted that «Stipendium Hungaricum» is highly popular among Kazakhstanis. Kazakhstanis choose specialties in medicine, engineering, IT, agronomy, defense industry, and more. Additionally, scientists from Kazakhstan and Hungary are closely cooperating in the field of Turkology.

Chairwoman of the Board, Aliya Ospanova, expressed interest in strengthening cooperation within the framework of the «Bolashak» scholarship and the «500 visiting scholars» scientific internships: expanding the list of candidates, universities, and organizations for education and research internships. Cooperation in the field of science is of particular interest, as the Hungarian Academy of Sciences is one of the most reputable. Following the meeting, the parties agreed to explore the possibility of organizing an exhibition of Hungarian universities.
