A meeting was held between Aliya Ospanova, Chairwoman of the Board of JSC «Center for International Programs», and the temporary Chargé d'Affaires of the Portuguese Republic in Kazakhstan, José Amaral, along with Deputy Head of Mission, David Matos. During the negotiations, the prospects for cooperation in the fields of education and science were discussed.
Ambassador José Amaral expressed deep interest in the «Bolashak» program and noted the international recognition and authority of the presidential scholarship. He emphasized the readiness to expand cooperation between Portuguese universities and the CIP and to organize joint events with Kazakhstani universities.
It is worth noting that Portuguese universities are leaders in training highly qualified specialists in the fields of engineering, water management, emergency response, and medicine.
The University of Porto and the University of Lisbon are ranked among the top 250 in the Shanghai Ranking, and they can become key partners in these initiatives.
Aliya Ospanova spoke about the programs administered by the CIP: the «Bolashak» scholarship, the «500 visiting scholars» scientific internships, intergovernmental grants, and the «Study in Kazakhstan» scholarship program.
The Chairwoman of the Board proposed expanding the list of Portuguese research centers and partner universities of the CIP and considering various organizations for internships, thereby strengthening cooperation in this field.
As a result of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue the dialogue with representatives of Portuguese universities, research institutes, and scientists from Kazakhstan, as well as to assist in obtaining invitations.
