MEETING WITH THE CONSULAR SECTION OF THE U.S. EMBASSY

Today, a meeting took place between Arman Ashkin, Deputy Chairman of the Board of JSC «Center for International Programs», and representatives of the Consular Section of the U.S. Embassy in Kazakhstan.

Deputy Chairman Ashkin acquainted the American colleagues with the ongoing transformation of the international scholarship, the development of the Bolashak Development Strategy for 2024-2026, the work on expanding the list of partner universities, the competitive selection process, the requirements for candidates, the contractual obligations, and the employment of graduates. It was specifically noted that the U.S. is a strategic partner of the Center for International Programs, and currently, 721 scholars are undergoing training and internships at leading universities in America.

The American colleagues expressed interest in the «500 visiting scholars» scientific internship program and the achievements of the scholars. For instance, Altyn Shayakhmetova is conducting research on climate change and water security after completing her research internship at Arizona State University, and Zaur Smailova is developing a mobile application for Kazakh students to learn English during her internship at the University of Southern California, among others.

At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to cooperate on providing student visas to Bolashak scholars and the «500 visiting scholars» research interns.
