MEETING WITH A REPRESENTATIVE FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS AT CHICAGO

Today, the Center for International Programs hosted a meeting with a representative from the University of Illinois (Chicago, USA). The delegation included Dr. Amuei Torkmahalleh Mehdi, Associate Professor at the School of Public Health, specializing in Environmental Health and Occupational Hygiene.

Acting Chairman of the Center for International Programs, Arman Ashkin, welcomed the foreign scholar and expressed readiness to strengthen cooperation across all programs. The parties also discussed expanding collaboration in the fields of public health, chemical, and biological engineering. Additionally, the «Bolashak» program offers a quota category for medical professionals to pursue graduate studies.

Dr. Mehdi mentioned that the School of Public Health at the University of Illinois at Chicago is one of the leading schools in the US. He highlighted innovative programs and research opportunities aimed at improving population health. The school’s programs include training specialists in environmental health, hygiene, epidemiology, biostatistics, and health policy.

Dr. Amuei Torkmahalleh Mehdi emphasized the importance of international collaboration in addressing global challenges in public health, such as climate change, environmental pollution, and infectious diseases.

Following the meeting, both parties agreed to further strengthen cooperation under the «Bolashak» program and the «500 Visiting Scholars» scientific internships.
