MOLDYR MUKAN: RESEARCH IN CORPORATE FINANCE

Moldyr Mukan, a scholar on the scientific internship program, is actively involved in the international scientific community, representing Kazakhstan at one of the leading research universities in the United Kingdom - Queen's University Belfast.

In the fall of 2023, Moldyr applied for a scientific internship, and in December, she received the long-awaited response. Her choice of university was deliberate: Queen's University provides unique opportunities for scientific work, including access to international databases and consultations with world experts.

Today, Moldyr is working on research in the field of corporate finance. Her project studies the procedures and results of shareholder voting aimed at improving corporate governance and increasing transparency in companies.

Scientific seminars bring together researchers from around the world. Regular meetings with scientists from Germany, the United Kingdom, and Morocco facilitate the exchange of ideas and the development of innovative approaches.

"Working with international scientists and access to world-class resources help me delve deeper into complex topics. I am grateful to the scientific internship program, which has opened doors for me to leading scientific centers," Moldyr shares.

Her research has the potential to change the approach to corporate finance in Kazakhstan. The results of her work will help to improve corporate control mechanisms, which can become the basis for the introduction of new management standards in companies.

Dr. Erzhan Tokbolat serves as her scientific supervisor at Queen's University. Dr. Erzhan's research focuses on issues of corporate finance and governance, such as mergers and acquisitions, asset sales, diversification, and shareholder voting. He is the author of numerous significant scientific works.

Queen's University Belfast is a prestigious British university, a leading center of science and education, and a member of the elite Russell Group of 24 world-class research universities.
