A New List of Employee Categories for «Bolashak» Internships Approved

On February 29, 2024, under the chairmanship of the State Advisor of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Yerlan Karin, a regular meeting of the Republican Commission on Training Personnel Abroad took place.

During the meeting, a decision was made to revise the list of employee categories for internships under the international «Bolashak» scholarship program for 2024. As part of the Strategy for the Development of the «Bolashak» scholarship for 2024-2026, training and retraining of personnel will be conducted based on requests from government bodies.

The following categories were included in the list:

• Engineering and technical workers, workers in the agro-industrial complex;
• Teachers of preschool, secondary, technical, and vocational education institutions;
• Medical workers;
• Civil servants;
• Media workers;
• Workers in the fields of culture, tourism, and sports;
• Judges and court staff.

The duration of internships ranges from 1 (one) to 12 (twelve) months. Internships can be undertaken at leading universities, research centers, and sectoral organizations in more than 40 countries.

Requirements for candidates for internships:

• An unconditional invitation (excluding financial conditions) from the host foreign organization for the internship;
• A total work experience of at least 3 (three) years, including continuous work in the chosen field of specialization for the last 12 (twelve) months at the time of application;
• A valid official KAZTEST certificate with a result of at least level B1;
• IELTS: 5.0 out of 9.0; TOEFL: IBT 35 out of 120, PBT/ITP 417 out of 677, DET 75 and above.

It should be noted that scholarship holders for internships are not required to provide real estate as collateral. To ensure the fulfillment of obligations, it is sufficient to provide two guarantors, who can be citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan under the age of 50, with a steady income for the past 12 months.
