All winners of the research internships under the «500 visiting scholars» program have now signed their contracts online. Previously, the contract signing process took up to 90 days and required scholarship recipients and their guarantors to appear in person at the Center for International Programs office in Astana.
Contracts are now signed through the TrustContract service, using the electronic digital signatures (EDS) of the recipients and their guarantors. Each signatory receives notifications about the contract status via SMS. TrustMe has quickly gained popularity, with over 1,000 companies signing more than 200,000 contracts on the platform.
«In the pursuit of improving service quality, the Center for International Programs has optimized its business processes, reducing bureaucratic procedures and moving to a digital format. «Our working group was tasked with digitizing the contract signing process for the winners of the research internships in a short period. In the fourth cohort, 481 individuals became winners of the '500 Scientists' program. Previously, these winners, along with their guarantors, would have had to travel from their regions to Astana, incurring personal expenses for travel and accommodation, and spend time waiting in queues to sign their contracts in person. Now, the entire process takes one to two days and provides convenience and cost savings» said Minister of Science and Higher Education S. Nurbek.
The online contract signing process is also available for «Bolashak» scholarship recipients involved in internships. It is worth noting that President K. Tokayev places special emphasis on the digitalization of government services.
Soon, digital contract signing will also be available for «Bolashak» scholarship recipients in master’s and doctoral programs. The process for digital registration of collateral property is currently being developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation, and Aerospace Industry (MCDIAP).
