A meeting took place between Aliya Ospanova, Chairwoman of the Board of JSC «Center for International Programs», and Zhang Xiao, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The main focus of the discussion was on strengthening cooperation within the framework of the Bolashak program, scientific internships, and intergovernmental grants.
Aliya Ospanova emphasized that expanding cooperation with leading Chinese universities is an important priority. Closer interaction with Chinese universities and research organizations will open new opportunities for Kazakhstani students and scientists, allowing them access to advanced educational and research programs.
Ambassador Zhang Xiao expressed gratitude for the long-standing and fruitful cooperation and confidence in the further success of bilateral relations in the field of education and science.
It is worth noting that within the framework of the Bolashak program, more than 12,000 individuals have been trained at the best universities worldwide, with 138 of them completing their studies in the People's Republic of China.
Through the Bolashak program, scientific internships, and intergovernmental grants, it is possible to study at top Chinese universities such as Tsinghua University, Peking University, Nanjing University, Fudan University, Harbin Institute of Technology, Zhejiang University, and the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Kazakhstani students can pursue education in a wide range of high-demand specialties, including information technology, energy, finance, medicine, engineering, and the humanities. Additionally, Chinese universities offer unique programs aimed at training specialists in areas such as artificial intelligence, renewable energy sources, and biomedicine.
It should be noted that China annually allocates 155 grants under intergovernmental agreements, and in 2024, 151 Kazakhstani students were given the opportunity to study at top universities in China.

It is also worth noting that in 2024, the Government of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region (XUAR) provided 50 scholarship places for Kazakhstani citizens in specialized education (college), undergraduate, master's, and doctoral programs.
