WORLD TOURISM DAY

On the eve of World Tourism Day, an important Fishbowl discussion on the topic of "Sustainable Tourism in Kazakhstan" was held. The event was organized by the Presidential Center of Kazakhstan, the Eurasian Tourism Association, and the Center for Urban Tourism Development in Astana, with support from the Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs. Participants discussed key challenges and opportunities to enhance the attractiveness and sustainability of tourism in Kazakhstan.

Aliya Ospanova, Chairperson of the Board of JSC "Center for International Programs," emphasized: "Kazakhstan's tourism has enormous potential. Our rich nature, cultural heritage, and diverse landscapes can make the country a magnet for tourists from all over the world. However, a key factor in the successful development of the industry is the training of highly qualified professionals. Thanks to the Bolashak program, Kazakhstani citizens can study at the best universities in the world, returning with unique knowledge and experience that will help strengthen Kazakhstan's position in the global tourism arena."

The importance of scientific research in the field of tourism was also highlighted, underscoring that sustainable tourism is not just a trend but a necessity for the industry's future growth. Sustainable tourism is a key agenda of the UNWTO (United Nations World Tourism Organization), and Kazakhstan needs to develop its own research to compete on a global level and effectively implement advanced practices.

Already, 190 Kazakhstanis have received education in leading world universities through the Bolashak program, and three more scholars are continuing their studies. These professionals not only raise the industry's professional standards but also introduce innovative solutions that make Kazakhstan increasingly attractive for international tourism.

The Bolashak program offers unique opportunities for internships in fields critical to the tourism industry:

  • Tourism
  • Restaurant Business
  • Hospitality

For those interested in academic development, scientific internships are available at prestigious universities around the world.

Through these internships, Kazakhstani professionals can master advanced methods of management, marketing, and sustainable development, enabling them to return home and help develop the tourism sector on a global scale.

We remind you that the application period for the Bolashak program and scientific internships runs until October 25. Don’t miss your chance to be part of the transformation of tourism in Kazakhstan!
