Aliya Ospanova was born on August 15, 1987 in Taldykorgan.

She is a graduate of the Kazakh-British Technical University, Imperial College London (UK) and Quantic School of Business and Technology (USA). For more than 10 years, she held senior positions in international organizations (Microsoft, Ericsson, RELX Group (Elsevier), as well as in the public and quasi-public sectors, where she took part in the development of government programs for education and science in the CIS countries. She was curating the program of transforming science and education of the Republic of Uzbekistan “Ilm-fan 2020”, “Concept on the development of the higher education system”, a number of national programs to improve university rankings and education in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe and the CIS.
