THE PATH OF A LINGUIST: A SCHOLAR ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF MULTILINGUALISM IN KAZAKHSTAN

Dilara Zhumagul, originally from Aktobe, is currently undertaking a research internship with the «500 visiting scholars» program at the University of Minnesota. The university holds a prestigious place among the top 30 best universities in the USA. Dilara focuses on applied linguistics, systemic-functional linguistics, and multilingualism.

Before starting the internship, Dilara worked at the international department of the Heriot-Watt University branch in Aktobe. As she notes, there she gained immense experience in teaching according to Western academic standards.

REGARDING THE SITUATION IN MOSCOW

On March 22, a terrorist attack occurred at the Crocus City Hall concert venue in the Moscow region.

Under the «Bolashak» and «500 visiting scholars» programs, 32 Kazakhstanis are currently studying in the Russian Federation, 24 of whom are in Moscow. None of the scholarship recipients were harmed. All scholarship recipients have made contact and are safe.

11 EDUCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS FOR STUDYING IN THE REPUBLIC OF POLAND

On March 26, 2024, the acceptance of documents for studying at higher educational institutions in the Republic of Poland under the «Bachelor's», «Master's», and «PhD» programs will begin, as part of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Republic of Poland. Applications are accepted online through the «Electronic Government» portal - eGov.kz or in person at the CIP office in Astana from 9:00 AM on March 26, 2024, to 6:30 PM on April 18, 2024.

For Kazakhstani citizens, 11 scholarships are allocated:

Prospects for Collaboration Between the «Bolashak» Scholarship Program and «AirAsia X» Airline

A meeting was held between the Chairwoman of the Board of JSC «Center for International Programs», A. Ospanova, and the CEO of «AirAsia X», Benyamin Ismail.

The parties discussed the possibility of signing a memorandum between the CIP and «AirAsia X» for strategic cooperation. Special conditions for flights will be provided to the scholars and graduates of the «Bolashak» program.

A New List of Employee Categories for «Bolashak» Internships Approved

On February 29, 2024, under the chairmanship of the State Advisor of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Yerlan Karin, a regular meeting of the Republican Commission on Training Personnel Abroad took place.

During the meeting, a decision was made to revise the list of employee categories for internships under the international «Bolashak» scholarship program for 2024. As part of the Strategy for the Development of the «Bolashak» scholarship for 2024-2026, training and retraining of personnel will be conducted based on requests from government bodies.
